OUR FOUNDER

My name is David Brown (my mission here), I have been homeless ("Exhomeless" who is homeless again right now) many times in the past (from age of 15 to age of my current age 32) due to low income status due to open heart surgery and other medical conditions (this is why I felt dedicated to making this Homeless Search Engine, homelessness affects me personally and is a constant fear). I am on disability now, but it doesn't give me much other than rent (small and not the best living conditions for my medical needs), electricity and a bit of food. I was on disability, but I reported to my office that I was spending a couple months traveling in the USA (sort of like a "snow bird" for March, April and May) and I was cut off completely (do not even have money to get back to Canada). I should be able to reget disability once I am back in Canada (if I can get enough money to go back, can't legally get a job here in US to raise the funds to get home), just need to reapply and wait (too late though, lost many belongings in Canada as I was not able to pay for my rent and new tenants moved in already). I am not sleeping in back alleys yet, staying with friends for now (usually this welcome wears out quickly from past experiences, so far so good though). It was very easy to become homeless again, but I am making ends meet and all is going ok (for now).

Picture of me looking for some "spare change" (found 25¢):
This is a recent (April 2004) of me!

I am seen here looking for change in a change machine (I found a quarter, why I am smiling), you never know when someone missed a coin or two. Don't forget to check phone boths too.

I have spent the last four years creating websites (some non profits, some for profit) that usually help others. I have one website for sale (have a baby on the way, need to "dump" a site to enable more time and a few bucks for baby things) and have had some interested parties (priced too high, will do better on Ebay this summer). I have even had a few clients that I helped put their websites up who in return helped me buy computers. I am making small amounts of money from my internet websites (Canadian search engines for profit, donations from my nonprofit homeless and "other" support sites) on a constant basis.

Here's where I do much of my work:
Dell P4 Laptop Computer with 640 MB SDRAM, 20 GB HD, WiFi wireless, 3D card, sound, CDR burner, DVD player, USB port replicator, etc...

Some of the software the laptop came with is Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, antivirus, encyclopedia, etc...

This is a great power machine for my database and programming needs!

I recieved it brand new in the box, it was a donation to help me keep making the sites while making them faster and better!

As you can see, I am on my way to being fully self employed from my various websites (work is sparse at the moment so I am devoting to my homeless cause since I am homeless again). It just has been a struggle putting together so many web pages while I learned how to do it. Running my own web server save me a lot of money by not having to pay individual hosting packages. I promote my own sites, no paid (wasted) advertising. I figure in a year or 2, I will be self sufficient and able to have extra spending money to put towards getting registered as a charity (maybe a corporation would be easier and cheaper to start) and help pay website costs.

How (My Story) I became homeless the first time HERE (I only made this due to numerous requests, not for pity).
